Our Mission
Lilitas Future Leaders is more than a Daycare
“We don’t see children as empty vessels.” Lilita’s was born from a mother’s love and a teacher’s vocation. When Lily Tejada de Gutierrez became a parent, she didn’t just want childcare for her son — she wanted to understand it. She stayed at his preschool every day, cleaning chairs, sweeping floors, doing whatever it took to stay close. Her dedication caught the eye of her mentor Lay Lay Eung, who eventually offered her a job at the same Reggio Emilia school.
That was the beginning. Seven years later, after teaching at one of San Francisco’s best preschools and three years in special education at Cesar Chavez Elementary, Lily opened Lilita’s. Not because she had to. Because she couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
Here, your child isn’t just looked after. They’re truly seen, by a teacher who has dedicated her life to understanding how children learn.

Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM. We work with families that need flexible scheduling.
Our license covers ages 0 to 13. We have specific programs for infants, toddlers, preschool, Pre-K, and school-age children.
Yes! We are direct partners with Head Start, Easy Early Education (EZ), and Children's Council of San Francisco. We help families navigate the application process.
This is one of our specialties. Lily has 3 years of experience working with children with diverse learning needs at Cesar Chavez Elementary. We work with IEPs, sensory needs, behavioral support, and create individualized plans for every child.
English, Spanish, basic Portuguese, and basic Chinese. We welcome families from all cultural backgrounds.
Yes. For school-age children, we offer pickup from school plus tutoring in math, social studies, and homework help
